For its first year in the Windy City, Wavefront Music Festival takes over the shores of Montrose Beach with electronic beats, ditties, and record spins from more than 20musical acts, with more to be announced. James Murphy and Pat Mahoney, both of seminal electro-dance punk group LCD Soundsystem, who bring their DJ and cake-mixing skills to the stage. Boys Noize blends familiar hooks from The Chemical Brothers with atmospheric rhythms, bells, and ethereal harmonies. Renowned DJ and producerErick Morillo harnesses frenetic dance hits such as "I Like To Move It" and his experience creating soundtracks for Ibiza and Miami dance festivals to unleash hypnotic percussion, sleek vocals, and hip-shaking beats over grateful festival-goers and dancing sailboats.
